INTRODUCTION
Odo-tin Local Government was created as a result of the local government reforms introduced during the Muritala/ Obasanjo regime in 1976. the name of the local government derivers from the ubiquitous river called Otin. The headquarters is located in Okuku.
The local government is located in the North eastern part of the state. It is on longtitude 4.6 degree, latitude 8 degree (north). It shares boundaries with Kwara and Oyo State. It
Is bounded in the north by Oyun Local Government in Kwara State, in the south by Ifelodun and Ila Local Government in Osun State in west by Surelere Local Government in Oyo State. It approximately 950 square kilometers. The population of the local Government based on the 1991 census is 93,831.
All the 60 human settlements in the Local Government are concentrated around the headquarters of the local Government with the most distant town being 18 kilometers. The facilitates easy interaction. |
